Founded in 1993, Katz Tax Seminars is a leading provider of live Continuing Professional Education seminars in Taxation. Robert Katz utilized his many years of experience as a Distinguished Professor of Taxation at Hofstra University to create Katz Tax Seminars as a resource to the CPA community and a place for CPAs to turn to for their continuing education requirements. Honoring the legacy that Prof. Katz created, Katz Tax Seminars offers courses in Federal and State Taxation, and provides CPAs with the most current information that they need for their practices. Katz Tax Seminars offers live, interactive courses in Nassau and Suffolk counties covering a variety of tax topics including:

  • Federal and New York State Individual Income Tax;
  • Federal and New York State Entity Taxation;
  • Tax Practice and Procedure;
  • Estate and Gift Taxation; and
  • Estate Planning

As the current principal lecturer for Katz Tax Seminars, Neil D. Katz, brings his technical knowledge and practical experience to the seminars. He also draws on his time as a professor of Taxation at Hofstra University to disseminate the information in a clear and concise manner. Having lectured together with Robert for many years, Neil understands how important it is to make the seminars not only informative but also interesting and entertaining for the attendees.

NEIL D. KATZ

Neil KatzNEIL D. KATZ, J.D., LL.M., C.P.A., is the Managing Partner in the law firm of Katz Chwat, P.C. he also draws on his prior experience as a Professor of Taxation at Hofstra University. Mr. Katz’s areas of practice include tax law, corporate planning and estate planning and administration. Mr. Katz has lectured for various professional organizations including the New York State Society of CPA’s, National Conference of CPA Practitioners, the American Associate of Attorney-CPAs, the Financial Planners Association and the Suffolk and Nassau Estate Planning Councils, as well as having been a featured lecturer at the LIU Post Tax & Accounting Institute. Mr. Katz has testified as an expert witness before the United States House of Representatives, Committee on Small Business, Sub-Committee on Economic Growth, and Capital Access. He received his BBA in Accounting from Hofstra University, his J.D, from University of Pennsylvania School of Law where he was a recipient of the Order of the Coif and the Bernard A. Chertcoff Award for excellence in Taxation, and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. Mr. Katz was named as one of Long Island’s “40 Rising Stars Under 40” by the Long Island Business News, in 2001; listed in the LIBN “Who’s Who in Corporate Law”, in 2013; and recognized as a “Top Ten Legal Eagle” for his work in Corporate, Contracts & Business Law by Long Island Pulse Magazine in 2014.
